No More Uni!

So I handed in my thesis last week..... and spent the rest of the week in a haze of partying hahaha. It feels amazing to have it done, printed and handed in. Now I just have to hope that I get first class, so should I decide to go ahead and do clinical or PhD getting in will become more feasible.

However there will be none of that next year! It's the year to have all the fun I never quite finished off before uni got intense. I have re-entered the Miss World Australia comp and it's coming along quite well actually. Having done it before means I go directly into the state finals, so it's gym and heaps of charity work time. In the meantime I've also been doing a few fashion parades, and I'm currently mega-excited about being one of the Gallery Serpentine models for All Hallow's Eve Ball next Saturday (SQUEEE!)

There's also work to think about. Will finish the stats tutoring in about 2 weeks when the kiddies have their exam and then I will need a new income. Have been pondering about options like training up in samba and teaching a fitness class or becoming a piano teacher, which I ought to have done years ago.... ANYTHING but retail hahaha.

But anywhooooo, there are a tonne of exciting things happening at the moment, and there is plenty of running around involved, but nothing compared to what it was like being hovelled up writing thesis. Must shoot soon peeps! You know who you are :)

I Am Terrible

OK so I haven't been on here in a million years. AGAIN.

However in my defence I have kept up to date with my deviant watch supporting you guys and I have even posted up something within the last few months *points vigorously*. This was kind of expected though, given I have a thesis to write... and it's actually coming along rather well.

Due date = October 14.

Don't expect all the much before then haha.

I have however started writing, and I should finish all experimentation on Wednesday, which is rather daunting because then come all the stats analysis and my data is a MONSTER! Last time I check I had three significant three-way interactions for ANOVA just for one of the three experiments, which if you know a thing or two about stats you will know that's NOT GOOD NEWS if you're the one who must analyse that stuff.

But anyway, the draft (intro, method results) must be in to our supervisors by September 30th and I'm aiming to get it in by the 10th *fingers crossed*. I want to do this because there's actually quite a lot of other stuff going on.

First of all my brother is getting married in a few weeks, and I'm in charge of:

* Designing invites (done.... should probably post that up hey)
* Choreographing wedding dance (done - bachata done to BVSC's Dos Gardenias)
* MC'ing on the night
* Singing Gounod's Ave Maria and Webber's Pie Jesu, which are not the easiest pieces around, and I haven't sung in a solid four months.

So I'm busy, but there's more.

I decided to re-enter MWA (Miss World Australia). I did it last year and kind of just breezed into the national finals without trying very hard. I decided to find out what will happen if I give it my all. I have absolutely no intention to attempt to start Clinical Masters next year as I need a break from study or else my brain will melt and seep out my ears, so I might as well be doing something more interesting than just working a shitty whatever kind of job. So expect interesting things to start happening within the next couple of months!

I have been busy organising events so far, and for you Sydney-siders here is a fun one coming up.

Saptember 1st
Cargo Bar
Party 4 Poverty is a charity organisation run by Sydney Uni students.
There is a Bollywood/Indian theme
There will be a fashion parade which I'm modelling in together with other MWA girls, and other female and male models on the night. We are working with 9 Sydney designers who are all fabulous.

So if you are a photographer here is a good chance to get some fun shots. Alternatively if you just want a fun night which helps out those in need too, then come along!

So that's what's happening here where I'm not hunched over a computer nerding it up in the lab at uni.

The Busy Continues

So honours goes on. Drawing has finally come back to me though, which is exciting. It is now what gets me through tedious classes and when I run out of work to do when I'm in the middle of experimenting on the little first year students.

So my latest little sketches and practices are online now, and hopefully they will be followed up with much better stuff as I get more practice under my belt. The aim is to perfect little manga character sketches. Then once I have enough of those, then it's time to pull out the pretty. The wonderful graphics tablet for some colourful fun!

So much for concentrating on thesis.

Whatever, in the meantime, if you're reading this and you're a photographer I have done work with, well get ready, because I want to shoot with people over semester break in July, because I haven't done anything in a million years! Seriously, that long.

Thesis actually is going rather well. Should have first experiment done in 2-3 weeks, then after some tedious stats, should know what to do with second experiment. It's the coursework that is getting under my skin. There are two big papers, two exams and a seminar presentation coming up (already done one) which we're supposed to co-ordinate with thesis research, experimenting and writing, all while trying to not go mad. I think just going to have to scrap that last clause there. Madness it is!

OK, so I have no life...

Honours coursework has begun and goodness have I felt it. Am staying on top of it all, but it does also mean that I have had no time to work on anything dA related :(

On the more exciting side of things, the concert for the choir is quickly approaching, and while that is also contributing to the lack of spare time, it is way worth it. We are looking at having two concerts within the week in a week where we also have a wedding to sing at. That week is going to be interesting to say the least, and will probably contain episodes somewhat removed from reality due to lack of sleep.

Am hoping that after a few weeks however will have settled into honours better and have a bit of a rhythm going so that I can get back into the drawing etc. Have also been talking to a few photographers about potential shoots, so expect things to be happening beyond the complaint of busyness soon!

So we had the orientation day for honours yesterday. It essentially consisted of them not having a timetable ready for us, and constantly reminding us what a stressful and full-on year it is. Thanks guys! Right now the plan is to run away to the Carribean.

Just got back to Sydney and I want to run away again. The Cameratta choir went away for a few days so we could get a heap of rehearsals done since we have a wedding and a few shows coming up soon. All very exciting.

Hurrah for the world of rehearsals and research!

OK time for coffee. Adios.
